In Call of Duty: Warzone an issue with the gas can decide entire rounds. The gas is partially transparent and partially not.
This is the gas in Warzone: This gas forces players in the Warzone into a corner. The gas damages the players, and the longer the round lasts, the less space soldiers have to fight or hide.
It is a heavily smoky gas, and it is actually difficult to see through. However, this only applies when looking from the inside out. When standing in the gas, you can see much better.
Players show nasty gas bug in video
This is the clip: The video by Arman276 has already received over 8000 upvotes (April 6, 4 PM):
You can see how hard it is to recognize his opponent and he tries to hit him on a rooftop while being quite unprotected. When he is then eliminated, he sees in the kill cam that his opponent had no visibility issues at all. The gas apparently affected him hardly at all, giving him a clear advantage.
At first glance, it looks like cheating, another issue that Warzone should quickly address.
What is being said about it? The affected player himself says that it makes no sense that one side of the gas has better visibility than the other. Every player should see equally well.
Other players agree with the victim. They too have lost rounds because their opponent could see much better in the gas. Many soldiers are more focused on escaping the gas quickly rather than getting kills from the death zone.
This must be considered: In the clip, it looks like the opponent has no problems seeing the surroundings in the gas. However, it is always portrayed slightly differently in the kill cam. He definitely has the gas in front of his eyes, but not nearly as much as the player inside the circle.
Is this a bug or intended? If it is a bug, it has existed since the launch of Warzone. Whether this was deliberately planned by the developers remains unclear.
A similar problem already occurred with the sunlight in Modern Warfare. There, too much realism caused players to see significantly less when facing direct sunlight than when having the sun at their back.
