Ubisoft has today introduced the new adventure game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the first official trailer. Here you can find all the details that the first moving images reveal about the game.
This is shown in the trailer: Ubisoft has today, on April 30, released a cinematic trailer for the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In this, the developers already share a little about the story.
The trailer begins with an English king, who is according to GameStar Alfred the Great. He laments the Viking raids on his land and how they invade but do not defend it. After the brief introduction, a wild battle follows as a result of a Viking raid.
In this, the presumed protagonist engages in a fight with a seemingly overpowering opponent, apparently a heavily armored Templar. He is pressured, but through a vision beforehand, he knows that the Nordic god Odin is with him and defeats his opponent with the typical hidden blade, the weapon of the assassins. What we know about the new Assassin’s Creed
What is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Valhalla continues the famous and popular “Assassin’s Creed” series. The setting apparently takes place in the Viking era. King Alfred suggests that Valhalla will set around 886.
This is nonetheless a significant leap in time, as the predecessor Odyssey was set in ancient times. In Odyssey, players could also choose a female assassin.
As GameStar reports, this will also be possible in Valhalla. The protagonist Eivor can be male or female, and it is purely an aesthetic choice. This does not change the story.
The locations of Valhalla are apparently Scandinavia and England. The trailer suggests that there will again be some form of sailing, as in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.
It looks like you can fight with the stereotypical Viking axes and not just with hidden blades and swords. Instead of an eagle, the protagonist will likely have a raven of Odin as a companion.

What about multiplayer? Many “Assassin’s Creed” titles in the past offered a multiplayer function. But for this installment, they are skipping it: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has no multiplayer – but a cool online feature.
Release and Platforms
On which platforms will Valhalla be released? Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is confirmed for the following platforms:
- PC (Epic and Uplay)
- Stadia
- Xbox One
- Xbox Series X
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
In the trailer, the logo of the Xbox Series X has already been displayed. The information on the official page for the game confirms that Valhalla will be released for Microsoft’s next-gen console as well as on the PlayStation 5.
In Japan, Odyssey was also released on the Nintendo Switch. In Germany, this has apparently not yet been planned for Valhalla.
When will Assassin’s Creed Valhalla be released, and what will it cost? The release date is “Holidays 2020,” which means the end of the year. This is a rough period that usually refers to the time shortly before Christmas, between October and December.
The price will vary depending on the edition, between €59.99 and €199.99.
