Yesterday, a demo was held in German for the console version of the fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. Community Manager Kai Schober guided players through a Tamriel designed by Zenimax for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One for half an hour.
Yesterday, there was an exception of a half-hour Twitch stream in German. The stream explains to all players who might come to The Elder Scrolls Online with Skyrim experience how an MMO works and what exactly the differences are between TESO on Xbox One or Playstation 4 compared to the PC version. Gameplay from the Playstation 4 was shown – this should be quite similar to the Xbox One.
The important information about The Elder Scrolls Online on Xbox One and Playstation 4
- The interface has been completely revamped
- Force feedback gives players a whole new feeling through the controller compared to the PC, it is said
- The button layout is based on Skyrim
TESO remains an MMO – even on consoles
- For MMO newcomers coming from Skyrim, perhaps an important entry info: No saving in that sense and no pause function (It is so to speak constantly saved)
- 5 abilities and the ultimate ability can be preset and accessed before combat; abilities can be changed between fights
- No text chat, so the game can also be played relaxed on the couch, instead voice chat
- There is a slight “soft targeting” to make it easier to select a target on the map
No TESO to Babel
- There is a quick chat system. Similar to items, pre-made phrases can be selected and used via a radial menu – according to player feedback, new phrases are to be added, by the way, you can also understand the phrases of players speaking different languages, they are then displayed in the language of your own client
- Voice chat works in such a way that you join the “area chat” and hear players within normal speaking range; the closer someone is, the louder they are; guild chats and group chats also exist – then in different channels
- For achievement hunters: There will be achievements – both in the game and on consoles.
- PC players will receive patches in advance, within a few days to a maximum of two weeks, consoles should also receive the patch then
