The Division is still on the road to success: it is currently the most played game on Steam that was not developed by Valve.
What Ubisoft’s The Division has achieved so far is quite impressive: initially, the Open Beta had 6.4 million testers, then it became the best-selling Ubisoft game within the first 24 hours, and now this: it is currently the most played non-Valve game on Steam. This is shown to us by tracking tools integrated into Steam.
A look at the official Steam charts reveals that The Division holds a comfortable third place, behind Valve titans Dota 2 and CS:GO. At this moment, The Division has over 94,000 active players, with a peak of 113,877 players reached in the last 24 hours. We recently reported that The Division’s reviews on Steam are not particularly good.
However, if you look at one of the biggest releases of last year, namely Fallout 4, you can see that there is still room for improvement for Ubisoft’s MMO shooter: with a maximum of 471,955 players at the same time, Bethesda’s RPG surpasses The Division by about four times.
Nevertheless, The Division should not be ashamed, as it must also be considered that many agents did not purchase the game through Steam, but on uPlay. The PC gamers who bypassed Valve’s service are not included in this statistic.
This makes the high number of agents on Steam even more impressive.
