Today, on October 15th, there was a maintenance for The Division 2, and the servers went offline for several hours. Moreover, the new Title Update 6 was released, and early access to Episode 2 begins. We summarize all the important information about the new update and DLC for you.
What does today’s maintenance do to the loot shooter? With the end of the summer break at the beginning of September, the first information about Title Update 6 came, and the developers have a lot planned for the upcoming expansion.
In addition to countless improvements to the game, today, the content expansion “Episode 2” launches with new missions for Year-One Pass owners. All others will have to wait until October 22 for the new operations but can already benefit from the changes of the general overhaul in TU6.
Here are the important times:
To implement the new game files, the servers of The Division 2 will be under maintenance today (October 15) for three hours. The servers will not be accessible during this time, so you cannot play.
- The maintenance start is scheduled for 9:30 AM
- The expected length of the maintenance works is about 3 hours
- The servers should be back online around 12:30 PM. Then you can start with the new content
By the way, depending on the platform, the update is expected to be between 8 and 9 GB in size.
The Highlights of Title Update 6 and Episode 2 – what to expect
At the start of the upcoming update, Massive released an overview trailer featuring the most important new features and the TU6 Patch Notes.
What does the TU6 announcement trailer show? The nearly 4-minute trailer showcases many new images from the update and provides an overview of the most important changes. Get an overview here of the upcoming modifications and new content for the next chapter of The Division 2.
New Content with Episode 2
What missions does “Episode 2” bring? The content expansion introduces three new missions for all players starting October 22. The story takes the agents deep into the Pentagon, and the Division must prevent the mercenary group “Black Tusk” from stealing dangerous technology.
- Pentagon Breach – Intro Side Mission
- The Pentagon – Main Mission
- DARPA Research Labs – Main Mission
Players with the Year-One Pass gain access to the new missions as early as October 15 and additionally two secret assignments that will later only be available to Season Pass holders.
- Marina Supply Route
- Embassy Crash Site
Looting should be fun again
How is the looting improved? One of the main criticisms of Division 2 is its unbalanced loot system. Although the game provides a lot of loot, the quality leaves much to be desired for some agents. The well-stocked pool of items along with a wide range of possible values has led players to often end up with undesired gear pieces, resulting in a lack of satisfaction.
The developers are now introducing a loot targeting system and aim to ensure that more weapons and armor combinations are worthwhile with many balance adjustments, “Named Items”, and some changes to the talents, while also allowing for more efficient searches for desired items.
Crafting is getting improved
What happens to crafting and recalibration? The crafting and modification options in The Division 2 do not meet the expectations of some players. Many find recalibration too limited and crafting too expensive.
With Title Update 6, the workshops are being improved overall. Crafting will generally become cheaper and materials easier to obtain; furthermore, the storage capacities for crafting materials will be increased. The recalibration workshop will get a new menu and will now allow the exchange of various attributes (e.g., Blue to Red / Armor to Damage).
The Technician – new specialization enhances your skills
What can the new specialization do? The “Technician” is the fifth specialization in the game and brings a skills supporter to the streets of Washington. The new class comes with a brutal multi-target rocket launcher and strengthens the skills of your fire team with its abilities.
Additionally, unlocking for agents without a Year-One Pass will be made easier. Field research will not be as extensive as with the Sharpshooter, and unlocking the Gunner will also be easier.
PvP players will be pleased
How is PvP looking? The PvP mode Conflict and the Dark Zone have been criticized repeatedly in recent months, and the entry barriers have been deemed too high. Beginners find the Dark Zone very difficult, while veterans think it is too empty. A similar situation applies to Conflict, but with the additional issue of insufficient rewards.
PvP is being significantly adjusted. In the regular Dark Zones, normalization will be removed, allowing agents to fully utilize the advantages of their builds, and with the entry into a DZ, there will now be a server switch to better fill the battlefields. In Conflict, players will receive more rewards, and a new PvP mode is being introduced that takes a different approach than the previous modes.
