The great MMO shooter The Division 2 is now already five years old. Now we get a little insight into statistics and the prospect of a new DLC.
For the 5th anniversary of The Division 2, the MMO shooter announced some statistics from the past years and at the same time promised that it is far from over.
In a short video, Ubisoft provides a little retrospective on various content and development steps from the past years:
What has happened in the last 5 years? In March 2019, The Division 2 was released and started in Washington D.C., as the video reminds players again. Since then, a lot has happened, and here are some content and locations that have been added to the game. Additionally, a few important development milestones are mentioned.
For each year, the video provides a few points that describe the journey of The Division 2. For example, that the first raid with 8 players took place in year 1 during the “Dark Hours” operation. In the fourth year, Ubisoft Bucharest joined the development team.
In addition, Ubisoft published some interesting statistics. There were:
- 8 million created clans
- 110 million heroic deaths
- 60 million legendary deaths
- 2 million completed countdowns
- The 100th floor in Punktowiec has been completed 54 million times
- 13 million items have been “pulled” from the Dark Zone.
- One billion items have already been dropped/picked up
In another video, the developers themselves talk about their journey with The Division 2 and state that they do not see the success solely within themselves. They mainly say that it would not work without the vibrant and open community.
What’s next? After five years, The Division 2 is not supposed to be over yet. Ubisoft states on the official website: “As we celebrate the past five years, we are also looking forward to the future. The journey of The Division 2 is not over yet. We are constantly evolving and facing new challenges to master, and secrets to discover.”
A new story DLC has been confirmed to be released, which is set to come out in early 2025. According to the information, this time you will visit Brooklyn, New York.
