At the end of April, the new Title Update 9 for The Division 2 is set to be released, making significant changes to the game. The developers have now teased a feature from TU9 that many players are likely to be excited about.
What to expect in April: Just recently, the Title Update 8.5 was released, and another major update for The Division 2 – Title Update 9 – is expected by the end of April.
This means the developers at Massive are still diligently working on their shooter and aiming to tackle other pressing issues within the game.
This feature has been announced for TU 9: Although the “State of the Game” blog was canceled this week, the developers posted the key information of the week in a post on reddit and on Twitter. There, they teased a feature from TU9 that many agents have been waiting for since Warlords of New York.
With the next update, it will finally be possible to upgrade all Exotics to the current maximum level of 40 – including the Eagle-Bearer assault rifle from the raid. Additionally, you will be able to reroll your Exotics.
Prior to the release of the Warlords expansion, players were informed that this option would be added later. Now, a more concrete time frame has finally been given.
The exact mechanics of how this will work have not yet been explained in detail. More information is expected next week.
Why are many agents waiting for this? Quite simply: Many still have old Exotics in their inventory and do not want to farm them again. However, they have not been able to upgrade them past level 30 unless they have been dropped at a higher level again.
Many owners of the Eagle-Bearer will be particularly pleased. Some spent hundreds of hours farming the exotic assault rifle from the raid and now have it at level 30 in their inventory. Now, they potentially face putting in hundreds more hours just to get the Exo to level 40 – which not everyone is willing to do.
With TU9, you will finally be able to raise your Exotics to level 40.
The reroll function is likely to please many as well. With this, you will be able to turn your poor rolls, with some luck, into strong Exos. However, the developers have not disclosed how expensive this will be.
In short: If you have diligently saved your old Exotics before Warlords as recommended, you will soon be able to bring them to the new maximum level. They will become useful again – especially considering the reroll function.
The well-known YouTuber and Division expert NothingButSkillz summarizes everything compactly in his new video:
What else is included in Title Update 9? Not all planned and decided changes made it into TU8.5. Some adjustments and fixes require more time and extensive testing, which will be delivered with TU9.
In addition to the upgrade option for exotic items, various bug fixes and further adjustments concerning Exotics and talents have also been mentioned.
