Massive brings clarity: We finally know what loot there will be in The Division 2 in the Discovery Mode of the raid “Operation: Dark Hours”. Who benefits from the Easy Mode of this top activity?
What is the Easy Mode in the raid about? With Title Update 5, the raid “Operation: Dark Hours” will receive a so-called Discovery Mode. This will be a lighter difficulty level of this PvE top activity, which will offer matchmaking unlike the regular raid. Many fans had asked for this. But what about the loot there?
What loot is available there? Massive had already indicated that the most sought-after loot of the raid will probably not be available in Discovery Mode. However, this was not completely certain. Therefore, there have been many discussions and speculations about the loot from the “Easy Mode”.
In the latest edition of State of the Game, they finally spoke clearly. The developers have now confirmed the following about the raid loot:
- The exclusive raid items from the normal difficulty level of the raid, namely the 3 gear sets Aces & Eights, Tip of the Spear and Negotiators Dilemma as well as the exotic assault rifle Eagle Bearer will not drop in Discovery Mode.
- The loot in Discovery Mode should still be usable. Items with a guaranteed gear score of 500, which is the maximum value, will drop there.
Is it worth farming in Discovery Mode? The Discovery Mode is not aimed at players who can already master the raid or parts of it and have simply had bad luck with the exclusive raid loot. Because, as mentioned, it won’t be available there.
Even if you have already reached a gear score of 500, the Easy Mode is not really relevant for you anymore – unless you just want to practice the process or experience the action at the airport in peace under easier conditions.
For those who still need to work their way up to gear score 500, this provides guaranteed 500 items, making the raid an attractive additional opportunity for them to achieve the maximum gear score. So for them, farming here could definitely be worthwhile.
When will Title Update 5 and Discovery Mode come? Title Update 5 and thus the Discovery difficulty for the raid will be released on Tuesday, July 23, for all players on all platforms.
