Trion Worlds is currently working on something, that much is certain. First, they registered the trademark “Reactor” and now a new website has appeared.
Whether “Reactor” and the game are actually related is a good question. On the page devilinsideyou.com, a sinister demon can be seen lurking in the shadows. Next to it, the saying appears: “At the end of times, at the end of the light, I trust the devils and fear nothing.” This is all very mysterious and raises more questions than it answers.
The Devil in All of Us
“Reactor” would be more suited to Defiance or perhaps to RIFT due to some steampunk elements present in the MMORPG. The demon, on the other hand, fits better with RIFT. So is it a new addon after all? But would Trion Worlds go to such great lengths and secrecy for that? Of course, there is a possibility that “Reactor” has nothing to do with the website devilinsideyou.com.
If it is a completely new game, what could it be about? A new fantasy MMORPG in the classic style? This would put the company in competition with RIFT. Or is it a novel action MMO with a dark twist? Perhaps it is a game similar to The Secret World. A secret world full of ghosts and demons that is right among us. This could also fit “Reactor”. Maybe the experiment with a new reactor opened a portal to hell… demons take over humans and control them while you are one of the few who realize what is really happening.
As amusing as it is to speculate about what kind of soup Trion Worlds is currently cooking, we will surely learn more only when the developer studio officially announces the new project. Perhaps they will drop the bomb at Gamescom in August.
