After the spectacular first season of the series adaptation of The Last of Us, fans are eagerly awaiting season 2. Max has now released a trailer for its series that will premiere in 2024 and 2025. Among them is a short teaser for season 2.
What can be seen in the trailer? In the trailer, Joel justifies that he had to protect Ellie. He is seen multiple times with a blonde woman to whom he is justifying himself. The conversation is accompanied by several scenes that reveal what will be featured in season 2:
- The dance scene with Ellie and Dina in the festively decorated hall will be a topic.
- Several people storm a fortress in a snowstorm. This might be Jackson.
- The Seraphites (also known as Scars), who communicate with whistles, are seen in the woods.
- A sad Dina with a lamp is seen.
- Ellie is featured in some action-packed scenes.
- The Clickers are a must and are represented in the teaser trailer.
We also see how the actress playing Dina steps into her role. Bella Ramsey is back as Ellie and will continue to be in the spotlight in season 2.
Unfortunately, the teaser is only 24 seconds long. The images rush by so quickly that most scenes only last a few moments. However, the teaser already builds anticipation for the upcoming long trailer.

When does season 2 premiere? Max confirms with the trailer that the second season will not premiere this year. Instead, we will have to wait until 2025.
The filming for season 2 began several months ago. The emotional scene that takes place in the first quarter of The Last of Us 2 has already been filmed as well.
