Cartoon series are not just for children. The Simpsons, South Park, and Family Guy are comedy series dressed in animation. However, Family Guy is not always liked by other writers. This is shown in a special episode of South Park.

Cartoon Wars Part 1 and 2 (Season 10 Episode 4 and 5) are two notorious episodes of the series that were later not aired by networks (via Screen Rant).

He sees in the studio how jokes are written for Family Guy. It also shows what the creators of South Park think about Family Guy.

This is a reference to the gags in Family Guy that are often thrown in randomly, without directly fitting into the story of the respective episode. The disdain for the series has been expressed by the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, in the DVD audio commentary for the episode:
We watched ‘Family Guy’ and it is, um … we hate it. We completely understand that people love it – that’s why we incorporated it into the show – and that it speaks to some people. It can just be a laugh. And we definitely don’t think it should be canceled. We just don’t respect it in terms of writing. There is one thing we always try to avoid in ‘South Park’: gags. We hate gags.
