For GTA 6, publisher Take-Two has several patents ready that are meant to revolutionize the gaming experience. We present to you 11 that will have the most impact on the game.
What is the goal of these patents? The developers of GTA 6 have already proven with the second story trailer that they primarily want to stand out graphically from their competitors. Fans even say it looks better than real life. But they also have other things planned to make GTA 6 surpass itself.
As creator @GTA6Alerts now shows in a thread on X, they mainly want to achieve this with some patents that publisher Take-Two has secured. These mainly relate to the graphics and performance of the game, but especially to technology that enables them to create the most lifelike experience and make you and the characters sweat profusely – quite literally. We present to you the 11 most important ones that the creator has identified.
Here you see the aforementioned second story trailer in action:
Lifelike characters for an immersive experience

These patents mainly help to make the “life” in the world appear even more immersive and vibrant. They focus primarily on the animations and representations of the figures and characters in the game world.
- Patent: US10395410B2. This patent allows for the most natural movement and bending of figures and characters. This is particularly noticeable depending on the pose and movement of the characters, as the animations appear much smoother and more fluid, which can also be seen well in the trailer. As a result, the characters appear even more realistic and less “animated”.
- Patent: US11684855B2. This patent brings dynamic and seamless character movements. A street network diagram is used for smooth virtual navigation. This should make the city’s residents and traffic appear more immersive, simulating life in a vibrant city.
- Patent: US10685152B2. Blood, sweat, and tears. All of this is meant to look even more realistic with this patent. Furthermore, the secured patent refers to all possible liquid surfaces and is supposed to bring a lifelike “flow” of the different fluids. The patent is also expected to have a significant impact on rain, puddles, and wet surfaces.
- Patent US11951384B2. A patent that relates to the use of motion capture and artificial intelligence (AI). These are supposed to help predict movements of body parts in order to make interactions appear even more realistic.
