The sandbox game Minecraft is probably one of the most well-known games ever. Even in 2023, 11 years after its release, there are people who have never played it. One of them was the biggest streamer on German Twitch. Now, EliasN97 ventured into the world of blocks.
Minecraft is still very popular 11 years after its release. Some of the biggest content creators became famous with the block game, and even the biggest German female streamer had her beginnings in Minecraft.
Many have been playing the game for years and continuously develop new challenges to keep it exciting. Popular are speedruns, such as by the popular YouTuber Dream, who was successful for years without showing his face.
But even in 2023, new players are discovering Minecraft for themselves. Now, Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich, the biggest German streamer, gave the game a chance. It went quite chaotically.

What kind of stream was that? In a stream on January 4th, EliasN97 played Minecraft for the first time with a few friends who are streamers. It went completely chaotic. On YouTube, the streamer summarizes the events like this:
In the first hours, we actually insulted each other quite a bit and didn’t really understand the game. Then later we understood the game a bit, [were] but still totally lost and still many insults. And then in the end, fewer insults, we understood it a bit more, we got a bit into it.
Even though Elias claims to be very bad at the game, he obviously had an incredible amount of fun: For nearly 8 hours, he played Minecraft, and since then, there has been a daily stream with the game (via sullygnome).

How is it received? For the Berliner, who became known for FIFA games and usually plays in competitive games like Fortnite and Valorant, the Minecraft streams are a big success.
The viewers in the comments on YouTube rave: Many write that the stream was a 10/10. Especially the interaction with his fellow players was well-received, fans of EliasN97 already demanded more streams with Minecraft. The Berliner then delivered, successfully.
Thus, the stream from January 8th reached a peak of over 80,500 viewers, with an average of nearly 57,000 people watching. Comparable numbers were last reached by Elias in the fall of 2022 when FIFA 23 was released. In his last stream without Minecraft, Elias had an average of 28,000 viewers, so he was able to double his numbers.
Currently, EliasN97 is the most-watched streamer for Minecraft on German Twitch; he even surpassed veterans like BastiGHG, who usually only show Minecraft. His fellow players are also ranked high, with Rohat landing in 5th place (via sullygnome).
This also affects Minecraft itself: Currently, the game is in 1st place among the most-watched games on German Twitch, even ahead of the shooter hit Escape from Tarkov and the popular “Just Chatting” category (via sullygnome).

Who plays Minecraft? At the moment, almost everyone who has rank and name on German Twitch is playing Minecraft. With Reved, Fibii, and HoneyPuu, there are 3 of the biggest female streamers in the survival sandbox.
Even MontanaBlack, who was at the top of German Twitch before EliasN97, is involved: After his first Minecraft stream on January 1, 2023, he concluded that it would probably be more fun with friends (via YouTube).

Also, outside of Minecraft, almost everything is going well for EliasN97. Between his content on YouTube and Twitch, and his entrepreneurial activities, the Berliner is very busy. That all the work pays off was shown in an honest video where he answered the questions of his fans.
