Monster Hunter Wilds aims to continuously evolve after its release, and the upcoming Title Updates will help with that. An open letter from the director now announces a forthcoming feature that fans have been wishing for since the release.
What is this feature? In the Director’s Letter, director Yuya Tokuda of Monster Hunter Wilds is already hinting at the upcoming changes of Title Update 1. However, at the end of the post, there was a surprising announcement that could particularly interest fashion-conscious hunters.
The “Layered Weapons” will be implemented in a future update of Monster Hunter Wilds. This means you will soon be able to apply a look to your weapon that better matches your fashion style. Currently, fans have to deal with the appearance of the equipped weapon – skins and transmog for weapons are not yet available.
This is especially great news for Artian weapons, as they are among the ugliest in the game, with fashion hunters even refusing to use them. With this feature, you can select an acceptable appearance despite having a powerful weapon, without ruining your look.
The first Title Update is coming soon
Why was there no decoration version for weapons at release? This cannot be answered with certainty. Layered Armor or decoration armor, that is transmog for armor, was available at release, but weapons can currently only be equipped with their original appearance.
However, some fans had wished for this feature at the release, as can be seen on Reddit. A specific date for when the ability to customize the appearance of weapons will be available is not known, but the first Title Update is supposed to be released soon, bringing many innovations.
What else has been announced? The hammer will be positively adjusted. Additionally, the team is keeping an eye on other weapon classes to potentially implement them by the upcoming update at the end of May or by the release of the 2nd Title Update. A piece of bad news: The corrupted mantle will be nerfed because it was too powerful at release, but the other mantles will be buffed.
The game is also expected to gain performance with the first Title Update. Many fans complained about this at the release, but the team has made some adjustments aimed at improving the gameplay experience. You can find more information in the official post from Capcom (via monsterhunter.com).
What else can fans expect soon? In our comprehensive overview of the first Title Update, we have listed all the changes in detail. Among them are particularly the following changes:
