In September 2019, the MMORPG Astellia was released. It is set to appear on Steam in January. Along with the release, there is again new content for the players.
What is Astellia? Astellia is a Buy2Play MMORPG from Studio 8 and Barunson E&A. The game, developed in Unreal Engine 3, offers you:
- A classic theme park world in Asian style.
- 5 different classes.
- The Astels, which meaningfully expand the otherwise monotonous combat system.
- Many areas, dungeons, and in the future also raids for 12 players.
- The PvP area Avalon, which is reminiscent of the WvW from Guild Wars 2.
Since the release in September, it has been quieter around Astellia, yet the MMORPG has been spared from major scandals or problems. Instead, exclusive content for the West has been released.
Even regarding the closure of the servers in Korea, the response was relaxed. Astellia is now fully focused on the West. This also fits with the Steam release.
When will Astellia be released on Steam? Astellia is set to be released on Steam on January 30, 2020. On the platform, you can already check out the game page. However, an exact price for the MMORPG is not yet available.

- Valuable package for 49.99 Euros
- Deluxe package for 79.99 Euros
All packages grant you full access to the game. You will likely have to pay at least 29.99 Euros on Steam as well.
Astellia, the best new MMORPG of 2019
How did 2019 go for Astellia? In 2019, Astellia was released without much media attention, both positively and negatively.
It is hard to say whether the launch of Astellia was successful, but there were hardly any blunders or major controversies, unlike many MMORPGs in previous years. The major negative example here is Bless, which went offline after about a year, but had built up a larger hype than Astellia beforehand.
For the new MMORPG, there were already many updates in 2019, including:
- First class expansions
- Legendary dungeons
- New Astels
- A Halloween and a Winter event
- A new endgame area that never existed in Korea.
This trend should continue in 2020.
What’s next for Astellia in 2020? Already in January, some new features for the MMORPG are planned:
- The legendary dungeons will be expanded
- Two brand new events will come to the game, including a dungeon event and a gigantic spider boss designed for 12 players.
But there are also plans for February and March, which can be found in an official roadmap:
- The introduction of an Astel equipment system
- Guild battlegrounds for 16v16 and 48v48 battles
- A Valentine event
- A new endgame area called “City of Lost Time”
Following the first quarter, alongside new story and new dungeons, a level cap increase is also expected. This has not occurred in the Korean version either.
