In the new battle royale of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, “Warzone”, you have to give it your all to survive as the last one standing. It can help if you land in the right spot for a stronger start. We reveal the best spots.
Why is it important where I land? You start in Warzone with nothing but a pistol and need to find or buy the rest of the loot. However, you won’t find good weapons and equipment everywhere.
Therefore, it is important to assess where a landing is worthwhile and where you are likely to waste time.
We show you five landing spots where you are guaranteed to find something or have a strong start to gain an advantage over others. For an overview, we have marked all spots on the battle royale map Verdansk:
For each spot, we briefly indicate where exactly it is located, how dangerous a landing there is, what you find there, what it is suitable for, and what disadvantages it has.
1. Train Station
Where is the spot?? A bit southwest of the center.
Difficulty: Medium. Several trio teams will likely land here and try to grab the good loot.
What do I find there? At the Train Station, there are many large buildings. In the buildings, you often find good equipment and boxes with even better loot. Additionally, there are two shops nearby where you can buy killstreaks or loadouts and numerous contracts that you can take on.
Tips: Due to the many buildings and corners, a house fight will likely take place here when a fight happens. Therefore, we recommend:
- Submachine guns
- Shotguns
- possibly assault rifles
2. Downtown and Stadium
Where is the spot? A bit southeast of the center.
Difficulty: Hard. Relatively many players will likely land here.
What do I find there? Similar to the Train Station, there are a lot of buildings where you can find loot and boxes. However, these are a bit more compactly centered and divided into several groups, so you might be able to gear up faster and more undisturbed than opponents with a bit of luck. You will also find shops and contracts in immediate proximity.
Tips: You have direct access from Downtown to other spots like Stadium (where there are even more shops) as well as a spacious surrounding area. This results in more strong options for weapons. We recommend:
- Submachine guns for close combat
- Assault rifles, DMRs, or sniper rifles for outside
3. Prison
Where is the spot? Completely in the southeast of the map.
Difficulty: Easy to medium. The prison is quite remote and offers too little loot for multiple teams, so there can be an early, hard fight if several teams land there.
What do I find there? The prison in the southeast is a spacious area with hardly any buildings to loot. The loot is instead sparsely distributed but rather rare. However, there are plenty of vehicles to help you move faster. Vehicles can sometimes be more important than the right weapons.
Tips: If you land alone here, you have the opportunity to gear up undisturbed and then have free choice for the next area thanks to the vehicles. Prison is particularly suited for solo and duo players. Due to the lack of cover, we recommend during a fight here

4. Military Base
Where is the spot? Central in the north.
Difficulty: Easy to medium. The point is somewhat remote but has many important areas and additional zones worth visiting. It is quite popular.
What do I find there? In the military base, you will find many smaller and some larger buildings, where there can be really strong loot. Also, there is guaranteed to be a helicopter, which can help your team move quickly or escape.
Tips: There is a lot of cover directly in the military base, but from outside, it can be easily sniped. Watch out for your position and keep an eye open. All weapon classes have their own advantage here, making looting easier at the beginning.
5. Airport
Where is the spot? West of the center.
Difficulty: Medium to hard. Very central, but spacious enough to spread out. Very popular.
What do I find there? The airport is a potpourri of everything Warzone has to offer. You will find large and small buildings with loot, tight spots and open spaces, vehicles, shops, and plenty of contracts.
Tips: The airport is probably one of the most popular or even the most popular spot in Warzone. If you land there as a beginner, do not expect to survive long. However, it helps to look around there and get familiar with the mode.
As a veteran, you should have good confidence in your own performance and that of the team when landing here. Depending on what weapons you find, you should adjust your strategies accordingly.
