God of War is one of Sony’s most popular franchises in recent years. The last part, Ragnarök, was released in 2022, and since then, it has been quite quiet about a continuation. However, in a recent TikTok livestream, the actor for Kratos announced that there will be big news in the next 2 weeks.
What has been announced? It has been 2 years since players could slice through mythical figures with Kratos in God of War Ragnarök. Since then, many fans have been waiting for new information about the future of the franchise, apart from an episode in an Amazon series.
Christopher Judge, who has been portraying Kratos since 2018, spoke in a recent TikTok livestream (via x.com) about new announcements in the next two weeks.
He explicitly said: The next two weeks will be full of announcements and various good things. Thank you for being with us, and we will get back to you soon, boy.
Although he does not mention God of War
, many fans infer an announcement for God of War from the boy
at the end of the clip, which he also pronounces as Kratos.
Fans speculate three things
What could it be? The clip is naturally being discussed on reddit. People are interested in what kind of announcement it could be. Three possibilities are mainly being discussed.
The most common speculation is that it is new information or teasers regarding the God of War episode in Secret Level. The anthology series from Amazon presents various stories from different video games in its episodes. It starts on December 10, which fits with the 2 weeks. It would also make sense for Judge to voice the character again.
This speculation is also supported by most people in the thread. The comment (via reddit) has the most upvotes under the post.
Other less supported speculations talk about a possible sequel or a remake/remaster of the old PlayStation 2 games. The third part received a remaster on the PS4 in 2015.
If Judge does not mean the 2 weeks literally, then an announcement at the Game Awards would also fit. They take place on December 12. Usually, the major gaming announcements of the year are made there.
Update: Christopher Judge commented on x.com regarding the speculations and confirmed that it has nothing to do with God of War. He is waiting, like everyone else, for new updates on the game. He commented on the speculations: Absolutely not true.
Aside from the episode in Secret Level, all the hopes of the fans are of course just speculations. There are no official details about a sequel or a remaster. Given the success of the series, one can assume that God of War will continue.
