We learned more about the Celestial Dragon in Total War: Warhammer 3. Games Workshop used the strategy game to bring back the Old World – and alongside new miniatures for the Empire of Cathay, there was also fresh lore.
The Celestial Dragon, also known as the Dragon Emperor, is ancient even by dragon standards. And he is no ordinary dragon, but the manifestation of harmony and order. Together with his wife, the Moon Empress, he rules over the Empire of Cathay in the east of the Old World.
In the meantime, the Dragon Emperor and the Moon Empress have retreated to the Celestial Court high above the capital of Cathay. They have passed direct control of the Empire to their children, who are themselves dragons. Unlike ordinary dragons, they have no wings, but possess the ability to assume a human form.
