Jastor Gallywix
You’re a pretty one and a clever one. So I’ll explain it clearly. This world will always be at war, and only those with the biggest weapons will survive.
Jastor Gallywix is not only the most influential but also probably the slimiest goblin that the world of Azeroth has ever seen. Not only does he have a very “unique” appearance, but also a despicable, exploitative, and greedy personality that is unmatched even by goblin standards.
As Trade Prince of the Bilgewater Cartel, he was the most powerful leader of the goblin island Kezan.
During his time in the Horde, he supported the rule of Garrosh Hellscream and put his best engineers at the service of Garrosh to develop various powerful devices and improve the defenses of Orgrimmar. The machines and weapons were later used by the Iron Horde for the attack on Azeroth after Garrosh shared those plans with the orcs from the alternate timeline.
One of Gallywix’s greatest achievements was recognizing the potential of Azerite before anyone else – he incorporated a piece of the rare mineral into his staff, which slightly altered his personality and fueled his drive even more (as Azerite does with everyone who is exposed to it for long).
Gallywix has become immensely wealthy and never hesitated to throw morality and decency overboard for it. Whether he bound refugees into quasi-slavery through contracts or worked his employees to death for low wages – everything ultimately served only to increase his profits.
To show the Horde how rich he actually is, he even had the region of Azshara transformed into a symbol of the Horde through a major project so that the Horde’s crest can be seen on every world map.
In addition, Gallywix owns a large pleasure palace in Azshara – with many female employees, a large swimming pool, and even a golf course.
During the “Battle for Azeroth” expansion, it was primarily Gallywix’s cash that financed the Horde’s war to hire mercenaries, produce weapons, or bribe locals to sell them information about the Alliance.
Several times, the Alliance attempted to assassinate Gallywix to end the Horde’s money source and thus the financing of the war, but Gallywix has several body doubles that magically look like the real leader – making him nearly unassailable and rarely appearing in person.
After more and more leaders of the Horde turned against Sylvanas during “Battle for Azeroth,” Gallywix remained loyal until the end – though probably only because Sylvanas always paid well. He suddenly disappeared when Sylvanas left the Horde.
In the “Shadowlands” expansion, Jastor Gallywix reappears, specifically in the dungeon Tazavesh. He is seen at an auction and later talks with some intermediaries – with whom he apparently makes deals.
Aside from all these “achievements,” Gallywix is also secretly pacting with Xal’atath – but you’ll experience what that’s about best in the story of Patch 11.1 Lorenhalt.
Even though goblins seem inconspicuous and not very serious, they are an important part of World of Warcraft and influence the world in various ways – although mostly negatively through exploitation of the environment and employees or through dangers such as explosions. This is different for the Kaldorei, who are nature-loving – we have presented the 5 most powerful night elves here.
