Abyss Trekker
How do you get the ship? You can buy the ship for 347,230 credits at the landing site of the vacation spot “Paradiso” on the planet Porrima II in the Porrima system.
What makes the ship special? The Abyss Trekker is probably the best combat ship you can buy for credits and the ideal choice if you want to handle loads of space battles. While the amount of cargo it can carry is relatively low at 340, its armament is significantly stronger.
Silent Runner
How do you get the ship? You can buy the ship for 370,633 credits at the headquarters of the company HopeTech. You can find the headquarters on the planet Polvo in the Valo system.
What makes the ship special? The Silent Runner is essentially the exact opposite of the Abyss Trekker and is designed primarily for transporting cargo. Its relatively weak armament allows for a huge cargo space, which can hold 6,660 mass, along with good defensive equipment with a shield value of 975.
Narwal
How do you get the ship? You can buy the Narwal for 432,620 credits in Neon (“Volii Alpha” system) at the company “Taiyo Astroneering”.
What makes the ship special? The Narwal may be the best pre-made ship in the game and can excel in all values – you would expect that at this price.
The all-rounder offers strong armament, space for 7 crew members, and a fairly large cargo space that can hold 1,760 mass. The shield and the jump distance of the Grav jump are also impressive.
Razorleaf
How do you get the ship? You can find the Razorleaf in the “Mantis” quest and make it your own at no additional cost.
You receive the quest when you find a note about a “secret outpost” from defeated spacers. The note can be found during the introductory quest in the “Nova Galatic Shipyard”.
The outpost where you later find the Razorleaf will be shown to you on the planet “Denebola I-b”, but you should prepare for some battles against spacers and robots.
What makes the ship special? The Razorleaf is neither the best nor the most versatile ship, but it must be included on such a list because you can acquire it very early in the game, making it the best ship for starting the game.
In addition to a solid armament and speed for the start, the Razorleaf also provides cargo shields to hide your smuggled goods from the scanners of the law enforcers.
Generally, the Razorleaf is more designed for combat and smuggling and therefore only offers room for 2 crew members and limited cargo space. However, it is definitely an upgrade compared to the Frontier.

Star Eagle
How do you get the ship? You can get the Star Eagle for free by completing the “Freestar Ranger” faction questline.
What makes the ship special? The Star Eagle is a solid all-rounder that you can obtain for free. The ship offers good defensive values, solid armament, room for 5 crew members, and 2,736 storage space.
Moreover, the Star Eagle is particularly suitable for boarding foreign ships, as it is equipped with weapon systems that can disable enemy ships.
