What is Tree of Savior? The Korean MMORPG is developed by some of the creators of Ragnarok Online and is fundamentally based on this game. Content-wise, Tree of Savior offers:
- A lovely anime-style graphic
- Fights against monsters and a lot of grinding. Boss fights require you to team up with other players.
- Many character improvements through gear, upgrades, and new advanced classes.
- A maximum level of 450.
- A housing system.
- PvP in special arenas.
Many fans particularly love the cute graphics and unique atmosphere of the game.
How has the game developed? Tree of Savior started in 2016 with a peak of 53,277 players. The new game received a lot of attention and also regular updates.
These included new classes in 2017 and also new classes in 2019, as well as regular increases in the level cap and new quests and world bosses.
However, it has struggled to maintain the strong player numbers from its release. In the last 30 days, an average of 2,521 players have played, peaking at 3,170 simultaneously (via Steam Charts).
Is it still worth starting the game? Just in July, there was a major endgame update that brought a raid, new quests, and a new set of weapons. Additionally, new seasonal servers will be released in August.
These innovations and the acceptable number of players show that starting Tree of Savior can still be worthwhile in 2020. However, there is criticism of the game’s difficulty level, which is said to be not particularly high, the high grind factor, and lack of support if you’re not from Korea.
