The Steam trailer for Old School RuneScape:
What kind of game is this? RuneScape is one of the oldest active MMORPGs, first released in early 2001. There, you experience your adventures in a fantasy world and delve into ancient legends and myths while gods weave dark plans.
You decide whether to explore deep dungeons, fight monsters and treasure, participate in PvP, or supply adventurers with weapons as a blacksmith. RuneScape offers classic MMORPG fare, giving you a time travel experience back to the beginnings of the genre.
If you find that a bit too modern, you can switch to Old School RuneScape. The game was released in 2013 based on the version that RuneScape had in 2007. In the meantime, this old title has been expanded with new content, though still focusing on the same virtues of group play, grind, and a “hack’n slay” control.
Who is this MMORPG worthwhile for? Anyone looking for a classic MMORPG with a lot of content but also a lot of grind should check out RuneScape. After all, the game that has been developed for nearly 20 years still manages to excite its fanbase. However, the movement and combat systems are a bit outdated. The graphics are not outstanding either. Those who wish can also play RuneScape on iOS and Android.
