Villains are at least as iconic in Disney-movies as their heroic counterparts. But which of them would have the upper hand in an ultimate showdown of villains? We have ranked the 10 most powerful Disney villains based on their strength.
How was the ranking created? Disney’s repertoire of villains is vast. There are now over 120 morally ambiguous characters. We want to focus mainly on the more classic figures. Therefore, the following restrictions apply:
- only film characters
- only first parts
- no Pixar films
Place 10: Madam Mim
- Film: The Sword in the Stone
- Abilities: Magic, shapeshifting, manipulation
The old witch Madam Mim comes from the now also aging film “The Sword in the Stone” from 1963. In this Disney version of King Arthur, Mim is the main antagonist of Merlin, the famous wizard.
As befits an evil witch, she delights in the suffering of others. She is cunning, dishonest, and naturally magically gifted. She masters smaller tricks, can fly on a broomstick, and even teleport. But her main strength lies in transformation. She can take on almost any shape, whether that of a beautiful lady, a small mouse, or a huge dragon.
Madam Mim considered herself the greatest and most powerful sorceress of all time. However, she was quickly put in her place by Merlin. Overall, the quirky old witch was powerful. But she probably could not compete with the sheer destructive power of the other candidates on this list.
