Rank 1: Brandon the Builder
Brandon Stark, known as Brandon the Builder, is the legendary founder of House Stark. And this nickname is not without reason. About 8,000 years before the series began, he built Winterfell and became the first King in the North. To protect the people from the White Walkers, he is said to have constructed one of the most impressive buildings in Westeros: the Wall. For this, he is said to have received help from giants and the Children of the Forest.
To man the Wall, he founded the Night’s Watch and granted it the “Brandon Gift,” a vast piece of land for self-sufficiency.
But that’s not all. His influence also extended beyond the North. Legends suggest that even as a child, he helped King Durran, the first Storm King, in building Storm’s End. He is also said to have designed the castle “High Tower” in the Oldtown.
How many of these legends are actually true is, of course, hard to say. It may also be that over time the deeds of several kings have been summed up into those of one king. But no matter how many great buildings Brandon really was responsible for, he remains at least the founder of House Stark. And that alone makes him the most important member for the Starks.

Another important and very historically significant house is that of the Baratheons. In Game of Thrones, we know it primarily through King Robert, who at that time was no longer at the height of his powers, and his two brothers. But in the past, there were many other legendary lords and warriors who belonged to the house of the stag: The 8 strongest Baratheons in the power ranking – Who held greater power in Westeros?
