Place 5: Witch King of Angmar
Where there are Winged Beasts, there is usually also a Nazgûl. Their leader is the Witch King of Angmar. Like the other Black Riders, he was once one of the nine human kings entrusted with the Rings of Power.
Over time, the kings were influenced by the rings and Sauron’s power and fell under the dark lord’s control. The Witch King has since led the group of nine Nazgûl. He possesses strong assertiveness and authority and hunts his victims relentlessly.
The Witch King manages to injure Frodo with a Morgul blade and nearly kills him. He casually shatters Gandalf’s staff, and King Théoden falls victim to the Nazgûl. He is also not to be trifled with in direct combat. When he dismounts, he fights with his sword or a morning star. Just his intimidating presence gives one goosebumps.
