Rank 3: Letifold
The Letifold looks like a cloak about an inch and a half thick, floating above the ground at night. It is also known as the “Living Shroud.” It usually attacks its victims in their sleep, choking them, digesting them, and then disappearing without a trace.
There is only one spell that can effectively repel a Letifold, namely the Patronus.
Fortunately, these dark creatures are very rare and mainly occur in tropical climates.
Rank 2: Dragon
The dragon is not only one of the most well-known but also one of the most dangerous creatures altogether. Worldwide, there are ten different species of dragons – each with its own peculiarities – that can also interbreed.
The gigantic creatures fight with teeth, claws, and, of course, their fire breath. In addition, they can fly, making them more mobile than many other creatures. Almost all parts of a dragon possess immense magical powers. Therefore, dragons are also extremely resistant to spells, making them even more dangerous.
Female dragons are even larger and more aggressive than their male counterparts. Harry found this out when he had to steal the golden egg from a female “Hungarian Horntail” during the “Triwizard Tournament.” This specific breed of dragon is also considered the most bloodthirsty, as it prefers to feed on humans.
Rank 1: Nundu
According to the Ministry of Magic, the most dangerous creature is the Nundu. It is a huge being from East Africa that resembles a leopard. Despite its size, Nundus can move silently. This is especially beneficial when hunting elephants – their primary food source.
Nundus possess the abilities one would expect from a large predatory cat: speed, good reflexes, razor-sharp claws, and teeth. However, the most dangerous aspect is their breath. It spreads contagious diseases, meaning a single Nundu can devastate entire villages.
Overall, this creature is so powerful that it has never been overwhelmed by fewer than a hundred wizards combined. This makes it even more dangerous than dragons.
Which creature on this list would you be most afraid of? Feel free to let us know in the comments! As a little arachnophobe, I would rather fight a Nundu and a dragon at the same time than run into an Acromantula.
Especially in the prequel films “Fantastic Beasts,” it is, as the name suggests, increasingly about magical creatures. For many fans, however, parts 2 and 3 of the series could not keep up with the original “Harry Potter” films.
