What is ODIN: Valhalla Rising? The game from developer Lionheart Studio and publisher Kakao Games takes you to a world based on Norse mythology. You’ll visit places like Midgard, Jotunheim, Nidavellir, and Alfheim. You’ll encounter elves, giants, dwarves, and mythological beasts. And well-known figures such as Odin and Loki play an important role in the lore.
There are four classes to choose from:
- Sorceress: Uses spells to cause high area damage to many enemies. Can cast summons and control enemies. Available in Dark Wizard or Archmage variants.
- Warrior: Protects allies as a defender tank, but can also rush to the front offensively as a berserker. Has high survivability.
- Rogue: Causes high damage with physical attacks, especially to single targets. Can act from a distance with a bow (Sniper) or in close combat (Assassin).
- Priest: Heals and supports allies as a Saint, but can also take on the role of a tank or cause damage as a Paladin.
The MMORPG offers a huge world without loading screens, dozens of dungeons, raid challenges, and PvP battles in which two groups of 30 players each participate. Additional features such as guild wars are to follow at a later date.
Due to its mobile roots, ODIN offers an autoplay feature. However, this is said to be ineffective for certain activities, such as fighting powerful bosses whose area attacks must be dodged manually.
