EVE Echoes – A Mobile MMORPG in Space
Developer: | System: Android, iOS | Release Date: 2020 | Model: Free2Play | Rating: 12
What is EVE Echoes? EVE Echoes is a mobile version of the MMORPG EVE Online, taking place in the same universe but a parallel world. You take on the role of a clone, flying spaceships and exploring a vast world.
EVE Echoes offers you a variety of tasks, such as:
- Collecting resources
- Completing missions
- Upgrading ships
- Discovering new technologies
- Finally, battles with and against other players.
The MMORPG relies on the sandbox concept. You won’t be constantly guided but can seek out the content that you enjoy. The economy is entirely in the hands of the players, with even stock trading and exchanges offered by the MMORPG.
Our former colleague Alex played EVE Echoes at release and documented his experiences in this report.
What do the reviews say?
- EVE Echoes has a rating of 4.1 stars from nearly 56,700 reviews in the Play Store.
- In the App Store, it only achieves 3.5 stars from nearly 3,400 reviews.
The game is generally praised for its great graphics, gameplay mechanics, and varied ships. Even critics consider the subscription system for 5 euros/month, called Omega Clone, to be justified. However, the significantly more expensive premium subscription is criticized.
There are also negative reviews that see EVE Echoes as nothing more than a simplified and inferior version of EVE Online. Others also criticize the fact that, despite auto-flight from place to place, you have to invest a lot of playing time, which is not necessarily suitable for smartphones.
Where can I download EVE Echoes? The mobile MMORPG can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
Who should play EVE Echoes? Anyone who wants to play a space MMORPG that is also complex and offers many possibilities should definitely check out EVE Echoes. The graphics and complexity are particularly special for a mobile game.
Those who already play EVE Online will hardly find the time to play both games and will probably prefer to stick with the original on PC. At the end of 2025, an event took place there that perfectly reflects the fascination of MMORPGs: In the largest space MMORPG on Steam, a gigantic power struggle is currently raging, it could change everything
