In Holland, the first was allowed to ride into the Wild West of Red Dead Redemption 2 for an afternoon and see the game weeks before its release. However, the background is tragic.
Jurian tells his story: Jurian, a man from Holland, reached out to a gaming site in the Netherlands to share his story. He suffers from Neurofibromatosis Type 2. This is an hereditary tumor disease. It is incurable. With this illness, benign brain tumors develop.
Jurian says he has been fighting this illness since 2004 and has now given up the fight. He says he has survived for a long time, but now he has had enough.
Jurian believes he only has weeks left to live. He says he is anxiously waiting for the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The western epic is set to be released on October 26. Jurian’s father, Haran, contacted RockStar Netherlands to see if anything could be done.
They wanted to help but needed the “okay” from their headquarters. After all, the game has not yet been released and little is known about Red Dead Redemption 2.

An afternoon in Red Dead Redemption 2
But indeed. At the end of last week, two employees from RockStar Netherlands came to Jurian’s home for an afternoon and were able to hold a private demonstration for him. In the end, they took the game back with them. “Sadly,” as Jurian writes.
That’s why Jurian is making this public: Nothing was heard from RockStar itself about the private visit. Companies are often accused of being charitable only for PR reasons when such stories become public.
Jurian decided to go public with the story on a Dutch gaming site because he had previously read about a case where Nintendo did something similar.
And RockStar would have done something nice for him as well, writes Jurian.
Story making waves: The story has crossed the borders of Holland and is being discussed in the international gaming forum reddit. There, Jurian’s story has received over 6000 upvotes.
It is discussed that it is a pity Jurian cannot be given the game entirely. However, people understand that the reality of business creates problems and makes this impossible. It is believed that curious fans, YouTubers, or journalists have besieged Jurian to get a version of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Some hope that RockStar had only instructed Jurian to spread this version of the story. In reality, he would be sitting right now playing Red Dead Redemption 2 endlessly.
A very similar story occurred a few weeks ago with Fallout 76:
