When thinking of video games with specific names, most people have a clear picture of what happens in those games. In World of Warcraft, you navigate dungeons and complete quests. Or do you? Some people find great joy in pursuing the simplest activities. And some of them pursue these tasks so diligently that they secure a place in the minds of their fellow players forever.
What was reported? In the Elden Ring subreddit, a player shares that a friend of theirs loves Elden Ring and has already played 15 hours – but hasn’t searched any caves, dungeons, or anything similar. They haven’t fought any bosses either. For 15 hours, they have been trying out classes and pretty much just running around the first area. Nevertheless, the thread creator is excited that a friend has finally found joy in their favorite game.
Community shares their own stories: The thread, however, quickly brought forth several other contributions from players who talked about acquaintances or their own behavior and how they have played games “wrongly” or “unusually” – and yet had great fun doing so.
I played World of Warcraft when it was brand new. One of our guys played with his wife. She only fished. 100% of the time, fishing nonstop.
Our entire guild stash overflowed with “rare” fish that were “hard to find”, tanks and healers sang praises to the fish lady.

Many describe below that they also had colleagues in their guilds who loved to fish in the game, even though it’s basically just a small, fairly relaxed minigame where you do little more than wait.
Others report that their partners sometimes play games a bit “strangely”.

Just thinking about how much joy she has just building houses makes me so happy.
