The MSI is taking place in League of Legends and most teams have qualified for the important tournament. The legendary T1 had to qualify in a last match first. They faced Hanwha Life and a former teammate with whom they have already won Worlds 2 times.
What a match it was! The Mid-Season Invitationals 2025 start at the end of June. This is the most important tournament of the year after Worlds, as the first place can directly qualify for the World Championship 2025.
6 teams from South Korea had to qualify for 2 spots in the LCK. Gen.G, who currently have a pretty impressive streak, secured a spot directly in Round 3 of the LCK Road to MSI. In the fourth and final round, T1 faced Hanwha Life, who had former teammate Zeus on the top lane, with whom Faker has already won 2 Worlds.
Although T1 had previously failed against their rivals, they were able to show their best side this time and qualify for MSI.
T1 Dominates the Encounter
How did the match go? Hanwha Life was considered a quite difficult opponent for T1. They won this year’s LCK Cup and also First Stand. HLE was able to win the last 2 encounters with T1 without losses. But T1 took revenge now, on June 15, 2025.
T1 was able to win the first match of the day after 31 minutes with a gold advantage of 15,000 gold. While T1 had 22 kills, HLE could only achieve 4. Especially Gumayusi with 8 and Oner with 10 kills were quite impressive.
The second match was closer with 24 kills for T1 and 16 kills for HLE, but T1 was able to win after 33 minutes with a gold advantage of 8,000 gold. Especially Doran impressed with 9 to 3 on Ambessa, while Faker fans could look forward to a Ryze pick.
In the last match, T1 once again dominated with an enormous gold advantage. After 25 minutes, the game ended, and T1 had just under 56,000 gold, thus a lead of almost 20,000 gold. HLE only managed to achieve 3 kills while T1 shone with 29 kills. Doran, Oner, and Gumayusi even managed to win the game without dying.
As a result, T1 is together with Gen.G the second MSI representative from South Korea.
What comes next? On June 27, 2025, the first match of MSI 2025 starts. Which teams will face each other is still unknown, as not all teams have qualified yet. How T1 will perform remains to be seen.
