SWTOR sniffs draft – at least in housing. The next patch 5.4 brings “masterful” flashpoints and a player house on a train.
Star Wars: The Old Republic has been trying for a few months to give players a heads-up about what to expect in the next content patches. The next update is patch 5.4 and was only roughly outlined during the presentation of the roadmap for 2017.
The game producer of SWTOR, Keith Kanneg, has now clarified a bit in the forum and explained what players can expect in the next update.
- The story will continue on the planet Umbara. Here awaits a new flashpoint in three difficulty levels (Story, Veteran, and Master). For the “Master” difficulty, something “special” has been planned. Players need an item level of 242 to register via the group finder. Self-made groups can also take on the challenge with lower levels.
- The Umbara Stronghold will be a new, galactic fortress for housing. It is located on a moving train and should therefore include spectacular views and cool features. To unlock the fortress, however, the aforementioned flashpoint must be visited multiple times.
Aside from that, there are also some quality-of-life improvements in the game. Companions can soon be summoned while moving (which players have been requesting since the release), and there are new customization options for characters – including hairstyles for Lana, Koth, and Zenya.
Lastly, there are minor graphical improvements in shadows and contrast as well as the end of the 8th PvP season.
Frustration over item level limit of 242
Not all fans are satisfied with the announcements. Many do not want “more galactic fortresses” but rather “real content” – whatever that may mean. Additionally, many players feel that the required item level of 242 to join the “Master” difficulty level of the new flashpoint is too high.
Kanneg emphasizes that the feedback is appreciated, but the team should also be given the opportunity to try new things.
Patch 5.4 is set to be released in August. However, there is no fixed date yet.
