The next patch is going to shake SWTOR up: Many quests will be disabled by default for newcomers.
Only the essentials are included
With the expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire, BioWare aims to breathe new life into some old systems of Star Wars: The Old Republic. This affects not only the contents of the expansion but also all quests that already exist in the game. Thanks to the controversial level synchronization feature, these quests will not only remain somewhat challenging at every level but will also be displayed more comfortably.
All important missions (i.e., class story and planet story) will be listed under the so-called “main path”. This will be displayed separately in the quest log and is particularly relevant to the story according to the developers. All other side quests will be categorized as “exploration missions” and are disabled by default. However, those who wish can reactivate them in the menu.
Hero missions require fewer heroes than before
Another change concerns the hero missions. Many of them (for example on Makeb) are designed for 4 players. The difficulty will be reduced in almost all cases, making this content accessible to smaller groups – often it seems players are exploring in pairs.
Unlike before, planets no longer need to be searched for the quest givers of these missions; they will now conveniently wait at the respective world’s spaceport.
There is also talk of new, exclusive rewards for the hero missions, so there will be incentives to return to old worlds later on.
