Star Wars The Old Republic, shows in the current patch notes what has changed with update 7.4. The update has been in the game since yesterday under the name “Chains in the Dark”.
What is it about? The MMORPG Star Wars The Old Republic, set in the popular Star Wars universe, received new story content, a new world boss, and various adjustments with update 7.4 “Chains in the Dark” on December 5, 2023.

This is what update 7.4 brings: Chains in the Dark offers you some general improvements on the maps, characters, and gameplay, which you can at least read in English on the official site (via swtor.com).
What larger content you can now expect in the game, we have briefly summarized here for you:
- Kessan’s Landing: The new area on Ord Mantell offers you, as a new daily area, repeatable missions for new achievements and reputation rewards.
- Side missions: New side missions challenge you to assemble technology in various parts of the galaxy, which is very helpful in the new area.
- Lane Vizlas: New missions surrounding the expert on droid history, Lane Vizlas, continue his story from update 7.2.
- Video lighting: With update 7.4, all video sequences will use a new character lighting system. Highlights of this system are expected to include better and more detailed shadows.
- Cartel market: The cartel market now promises you new items on a weekly basis, including a new armor set and Darth Null’s double-bladed lightsaber.
A fight against the new world boss should be worthwhile
In addition to the newly mentioned features, you can also expect a new world boss in Kessan’s Landing with update 7.4.
The droid FR3-D0M makes your life difficult in combat with burning plasma spots on the ground. However, the fight against him should definitely be worthwhile, as there is a possibility that FR3-D0M drops special loot.
