In Diablo 4, you summon some of the toughest bosses in the game with the right materials. One of them is Varshan, from whom you can obtain certain uniques. Here you will find everything about the location, loot drops, and how to summon and defeat the boss.
How to summon Varshan: You will find Varshan at all torment levels in his “Boshaftebau” at the Whispering Tree in Hawezar. To summon shelter bosses, you no longer need special materials since Season 8. Thus, you can simply enter his dungeon and summon him at the altar.
Where do I get Boshafte Hearts? After defeating Varshan, a chest will spawn that you can open with the Boshafte Hearts to access his loot. The materials you need for the bosses drop in almost all endgame activities. Depending on which content you enjoy the most, you essentially farm the hearts “on the side” from events, treasure goblins, hell blooms, blood maidens, and whisper chests.
What level is Varshan? With Season 6, Blizzard abolished the often-criticized world levels and integrated a new difficulty system. The monster levels then depend on the level you are playing at and are no longer displayed. Thus, Varshan’s level depends on your difficulty level, as does that of the enemies awaiting you in the “Boshaftebau”. There, you will predominantly encounter snake summons and snake cultists.
Defeating Varshan: Tips for the Fight
How do I prepare? First, you need a good build to have a chance against the boss. Here you will find a tier list with the strongest builds in the endgame of Diablo 4. The more damage you deal, the less time the boss has to retaliate against you.
Since Varshan primarily deals shadow damage, you should also ensure that your resistances are at least 70% in that area. If this is not the case, equip yourself with potions to increase the value. Alternatively, a potion that boosts your armor will help, as long as you haven’t reached the cap yet.
What should I watch out for? Varshan uses three attacks in the fight. He attacks you with his tentacle-like innards and throws putrid projectiles at you. It’s best to jump behind the boss during this. If he hits you, he restores his barrier.
Varshan covers the ground with rot, causing several areas to glow pink and explode. Make sure to avoid standing in these areas. The boss also summons 3 servants from whom Varshan absorbs power. First, kill the servant from whom Varshan absorbs, and then the other two. If Varshan manages to absorb the power, he receives dangerous buffs.
