S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is one of the most anticipated games on Steam, but now the developers have delayed the release again.
When is the new release? S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has pushed the release date from March 30, 2024, to September 5, 2024.
Previously, the release of the shooter had already been postponed several times.
Why was the release postponed? As the developers stated in a message on X.com (formerly Twitter), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 currently does not meet the technical standards that the studio and the fans expect from the survival shooter. The team therefore wants to take a little more time.
This does not change the fact that we were still witnessing a certain number of technical shortcomings at the beginning of this year, which keep S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 below the expected standards for the final experience that our fans are waiting for.
Although there is absolutely no way to make another delay sound less grim, we have decided to clearly state our reasons for postponing the game in favor of another round of polishing.

What is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2? It is the sequel to the famous survival shooter from 2007. You are back in Chernobyl, where several years prior an atomic catastrophe occurred, creating strange anomalies.
Since the catastrophe, the flora and fauna have mutated and the city of Pripyat is an absolute military exclusion zone, where you will encounter bandits and nasty figures. This is all accompanied by a grim, eerie atmosphere.

In addition to the shooter gameplay, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will also feature survival elements. You have to pay attention to your hunger and sleep, take care of injuries, and protect yourself from radioactive radiation.
Although the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has been pushed back a bit, the title remains a game to keep an eye on in 2024. For us, it still counts among the 10 most promising shooters on Steam.
