On November 27, a new Free2Play Survival MMO called Stay Out has launched. We take a look at how the game is received on Steam.
What is Stay Out? The game was previously known as Stalker Online and was supposed to be a survival game. It is now called Stay Out – likely for legal reasons related to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series – and has transformed more into an MMORPG with shooter elements. However, survival elements remain important.
Exploring suburbs in a “foreign zone” and discovering abandoned places is the focus. There, you search for valuable items. Everywhere dangers lurk that you face together with other players.
The MMORPG Shooter Divides Players
What do the game’s ratings look like on Steam? The ratings currently stand at 46% and thus are balanced. The following aspects are praised:
- The many game modes such as cooperative explorations and even Battle Royale
- The leveling system
- The gameplay mechanics
- The physics system
However, there is also criticism:
- Stay Out feels completely unfinished, there are still Russian texts found in the game
- There are many bugs
- Even the tutorial has issues and some cannot complete it
- The game lacks a coherent narrative, something like a story that gives meaning to the entire gameplay
- The community is labeled as extremely toxic
Just give it a try, it’s free
What do players say about Stay Out? There are already some comments on Steam:
- be_ridiculous writes on Steam: “You should do what the game says: Stay Out. There is no plot or direction, no chance to engage at all because the players are so toxic.”
- Grimreaper stated: “So I’ve played for a while now and I find it runs great and it’s fun. I can’t understand why some say that after the tutorial you don’t know what to do. You can figure out a lot on your own.”
Should you play it? Stay Out is a Free2Play game. Anyone can try it out for free. Even if you ultimately don’t like the shooter, you have lost nothing by trying.
