Companions in Starfield play an important role in the game. They assist you in combat or act as your personal pack mule by carrying items for you. Additionally, you can bond with them, which even gives you more experience points.
With a specific item, you can significantly increase the firepower of your companions. You benefit from an official trick of the game.
Grenades significantly boost the firepower of your companions
What should I give my companions? You should equip your companions with a grenade. Grenades are relatively rare in the game; many players save their explosive weapons for particularly tough enemies.
However, with a grenade, you can enormously increase the firepower and effectiveness of your companions in battles. And there is a simple reason for that.
What’s behind it? In Starfield, your companions do not consume ammunition or items that you hand to them. Theoretically, you only need to put a single bullet in your companion’s inventory, and they can shoot infinitely.
The same applies to grenades: if you equip your companions with grenades, they can throw the explosive weapons at your enemies an unlimited number of times. Unlike you, they are not limited. Your companions can therefore constantly bombard your enemies with grenades while you can shoot at the enemies with your guns.
