Running a lot can sometimes be really frustrating in Starfield, but a player has found a way to run 35% faster continuously.
In Starfield, a significant part of the gameplay involves exploring planets. However, since you can’t rely on vehicles, mounts, or other means of transportation in Bethesda’s latest RPG, you find yourself walking a lot – not exactly the fastest way to travel.
A player has now shared a trick on Reddit that allows him to run continuously 35% faster, although this also requires a lot of preparation.
Player produces item in bulk to boost speed
What is this trick? The user Historical_Age_9921 reports on Reddit that he uses the item ‘Amp’ to run continuously 35% faster. This is initially nothing special, as Starfield already indicates the effect of the item in its description.
AMP is described as a steroid-based performance-enhancing substance that increases movement speed by 35% for 2 minutes and also raises jump height by 2 meters.
The user’s trick is that he has created an infinite supply of the item by investing a skill point in the ‘Botany’ skill and building an outpost on the planet Jemison (New Atlantis) in the ‘Alpha Centauri’ system.

On Jemison, he now farms the resources argon, metabolikum, and toxins to produce the speed-boosting substance. He has also placed it on a hotkey to reactivate it every 2 minutes during gameplay.
What does the Botany skill do? The ‘Botany’ skill can be found on the second tier of the research skill tree and can be learned after you invest at least 4 skill points in the research category.
The Botany skill allows you to cultivate some plants in your outpost. Additionally, you gain more organic resources from plants that are common or rare and receive more information about those plants when you analyze them with your scanner.
If you don’t feel like building an outpost, farming resources, and crafting items just to run faster, there’s another trick that lets you boost forward faster with the jetpack:
