In Starfield you can use a wide range of different firearms that give you a great advantage. We will reveal a small glitch that allows you to quickly get really strong weapons without putting yourself in danger.
How does this trick work? It’s actually very simple:
- Build an outpost of the type “Display“ on a planet.
- Build a weapons case in the building menu there. You have three options to choose from: A small case contains pistols, a medium case contains rifles, and a large case gives you heavy weapons. They all cost the same – 2 Titanium and 1 Polymer.
- Save the game.
- Load the game save.
The trick here is that the weapon cases should actually be empty. But if you save the game and reload, suddenly there are weapons and ammunition inside. With a bit of luck, even legendary weapons. Of course, it’s much more fun when you build several weapon cases at once.
Now you have several options. Theoretically, you could reload the game save until the right weapons are included. Or you loot the boxes, sell useless contents, and continue playing until you have gathered new materials to build new weapon cases.
By the way, if you don’t enjoy opening the boxes, you can simply delete the entire outpost after you have reloaded the game. This way, all the contents of the boxes automatically end up in your ship’s storage. If it’s full, they even come to your inventory.
Yes, you are cheating, but who cares?
Is the trick legal? You are basically exploiting a bug that is present in the game. However, since Starfield is a single-player game, you are not taking anything from anyone or gaining any unfair advantage.

However, with cheats, you always have a small residual risk that they could completely ruin your game save. You don’t have this risk with this weapon trick. You can also continue to earn achievements, which is not the case with a modified game save.
