Yesterday the pre-order for Starfield, the new sci-fi role-playing game from Bethesda, began. As a special treat, there is a Collector’s Edition for €300 that includes a special watch and a matching case. Collectors seem to be going crazy over it. Within hours, the edition was sold out. People on Reddit are cursing the damn scalpers and their profit greed.
What’s included in the Collector’s Edition of Starfield?
- The “Premium Version” of Starfield includes all digital products and costs around €100. It contains the game, the first expansion, access to the soundtrack and the artbook, along with some in-game skins.
- The Collector’s Edition adds a special watch, the “Chronomark Watch,” and a matching steel case for an extra cost of around €200. This watch was discovered back in January 2022 (via gamepro), but is now confirmed.
- Additionally, the Collector’s Edition includes a patch and a credit stick with an engraved game code.

What’s so special about the watch? In the presentation, Bethesda highlighted the watch specifically. The “real” watch reflects the watch that you are ceremoniously presented within Starfield.
In the game, it functions as a kind of digital assistant.
Game Director Todd Howard raves:
For this game, we have made a watch. It is the Constellation Explorer’s Watch. This is the watch that you actually get in the game, and with it, you gain access to a part of your user interface: the compass and environmental information. It connects to your phone to send you notifications and other information.
In addition to the watch, a detailed case has also been created. The design is inspired by the boxes that real astronauts used during the Apollo era to transport lunar rocks to Earth.
Efforts were made to create the case authentically, so that it appears like something that could actually exist in Starfield.

As the website Videogameschronicle knows, the watch was apparently created by the British company The Wand Company
and listed as LPV6 Chronomark Smartwatch
. The watch bears the inscription est 2188
as an indication that it was made in 2188 by a company that exists within the universe of Starfield.
In addition to the Collector’s Edition, Bethesda has also ordered a controller and a headset in the Starfield design from Xbox.
On Reddit, fans are instantly worried about getting an edition
How is it being discussed? In fact, especially the watch is highlighted on Reddit as a reason to rush for the Collector’s Edition. It seems to have really impressed fans.
For Bethesda, it must be a satisfaction after getting so much trouble for “Canvas” gate in 2018.
On Reddit, people are already cursing the “scalpers” who bought the Collector’s Edition intending to sell it later for a profit. Even with the rare PlayStation 5, scalpers were a curse for every honest gamer.
Apparently, the first Collector’s Editions were sold out within minutes, and the stock from retailers like GameStop decreased rapidly.
Our employee Jasmin said this morning there were still editions available at Amazon Germany, even a little cheaper than €300 – but the stock there is now sold out.
