Gaming in a household with siblings or children can often be a challenge. If you share a console, it’s not uncommon for save files to get corrupted or even deleted. This happened to a father in Starfield, but he was lucky.
What happened? The user PhonedZero explained in a Reddit post that he lost his Starfield save file with over 100 hours of gameplay. He was close to the main quest, had completed 90% of his side quests, and had almost finished all factions.
When his 13-year-old son wanted to start his own save on the father’s account, the father thought nothing of it and let him play. But when the game was started again, the father’s save was suddenly gone. Apparently only because the son had started a new save. After over 100 hours, it was a shock, but the community was able to help.

The father didn’t even write the post primarily to seek help, but to ask if this had happened to anyone else. He would now be happy to play the game again with a better understanding.
However, as it turns out, the save file and character were never gone. You just need to switch to the current character, and a simple button press is enough. The father thanks the user KaylaSarahMC:

Luckily, the situation turned out positively for the father. His positive and calm attitude is definitely something to take inspiration from.
