Fallout received a 2nd season in December 2025, and now Amazon has finally released official viewer numbers. They show: The series was a great success, but it is not enough for the number 1 spot in a specific category.
Fallout has so far received two seasons on Amazon Prime, and a third is already in the works. This is thanks to the great success that the streaming giant achieved with the adaptation of Bethesda’s video game series.
Now, for the first time, Amazon has released official numbers for the second season and revealed how many people have watched the eight new episodes.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, it was 83 million since the release on December 16, 2025.
For comparison: Season 1 reached 65 million viewers within the first two weeks in April 2024. By October 2024, according to a post on x.com, it was 100 million viewers.
The big difference between the two seasons: All episodes were released at the same time then, while Amazon chose a weekly release for season 2.
83 million viewers is a substantial number just four months after launch, but according to Amazon, it does not reach the number 1 spot among the series that have returned for another season.
Make way, here comes Reacher!
Who is in the number 1 spot? According to Hollywood Reporter, in the number 1 spot of returning series is still Reacher. The crime series with action elements tells the story of ex-military policeman Jack Reacher and has been airing since 2022. So far, 3 seasons have been released, and a fourth is on the way according to main actor Alan Ritchson, as reported by Forbes.
In this case, the gun-toting ghoul is thus outdone by the tough action star, who in many ways is a modern Arnold Schwarzenegger. Like the predecessor, Reacher embodies the muscle-bound one-man army, speaks little, and only has dry quips occasionally.
The perhaps biggest difference between Reacher and many of Schwarzenegger’s characters: Jack Reacher is a very good investigator who does much of his work with his brains.
How many viewers the 2nd season reached, Amazon unfortunately has not directly revealed. However, we know here at least the amount of minutes watched: In the first week of Season 2, the series racked up 1.69 billion minutes of watch time (via cbr.com).
Even though Fallout has not yet reached Reacher’s record, this may change in the future. By the way, the series in total, meaning both seasons combined, has reached a whopping 100 million viewers since December 16, 2025.
Amazon has since published a statement addressing the success:

The performance of the series confirms this once again: The second season now ranks alongside the first season among the four most successful seasons we have ever launched.
