The brutal GTA 5 has now been completed for the very first time without the player taking damage. An impressive achievement shown now 8 years after the release.
What is it about? YouTuber UnNameD showcases his “run” of GTA 5 (Grand Theft Auto V) on YouTube. He completed the story in just 9 hours. But that is not the special part. During these 9 hours, he was not hit by an enemy or took any damage.
An impressive feat that can now be seen on YouTube.
No Armor and Only 1 Health Point – This is How the Run Went
What makes it so difficult: The story of GTA 5 is filled with criminals who would love to take you out right away. There are countless reasons for this. The mere smell of Trevor might awaken the urge in some NPCs’ “minds” to at least deliver a slap.
Then there are the shootouts, which are a main part of some missions. Generally, people in Los Santos are eager to be armed or settle things with their fists. It is clear that completing the story without taking damage even once is extremely challenging.
Even if you’re safe from gunfire, you must concentrate heavily on driving. Even minor accidents can cause damage to players and ruin a run of this kind.
The special thing about the run: YouTuber UnNameD explains that it took him 48 attempts before he successfully completed the “OHKO” run. OHKO stands for “One Hit Knock Out.” He used a mod that artificially set his health points to “1.” This means that if he takes even a tiny bit of damage from any source, he would be dead.
Moreover, he did not use Trevor’s special ability. When this is activated, you can take a certain amount of damage without dying. To make the run even harder, the player also forwent armor.
As reported by Gamespot, some players are trying this GTA 5 run without taking hits, but UnNameD is the first to upload proof of completion (via Gamespot.com).
Another player, DarkViperAU (via YouTube.com), is heavily involved. He has already developed several tactics for an OHKO run in GTA 5 and has been trying to achieve the run for a long time.
Where to watch it? Anyone who wants can check out the complete 9-hour run on UnNameD’s YouTube channel. It is divided into three parts, each about 3 hours long. We will share the first part here.
Towards the end of part 2, it gets exciting as UnNameD, in the role of Trevor, faces off against snipers, helicopters, and boats at the same time. For everyone who is thrilled by the story of GTA 5, this is an interesting run. The special tactics that speedrunners use to approach such challenges and play missions completely differently garner much enthusiasm in the comments on YouTube.
What do you think of runs under particularly challenging conditions? Is this something you watch to see how “differently” speedrunners play, or do you just skim through the video to see key moments?
