Rogue Trader – More powerful than any Space Marine
- Genre: Role-playing game
- Players: Solo or up to 6 in co-op
- Platform: Steam, PS5, Xbox
If you’re looking for a game that immerses you deeply in the world of Warhammer, Rogue Trader is the perfect game for you. In the classic RPG, you are a rogue trader, one of the most powerful people in the Imperium – or rather: outside of it.
Your task is to explore new territories and expand the Imperium’s borders. As a rogue trader, you have virtually unlimited powers and can do things for which normal people would be executed, like trading with Xenos or using forbidden technology.
As a cRPG, Rogue Trader relies heavily on its story, which you experience and shape while playing. Your decisions impact the development and the ending of the game.
Although Rogue Trader is very combat-heavy, the various companions play a significant role. Each of them has their own story, and depending on how well you get along with them, you either delve deeper into the backgrounds… or not. Even romances are possible.
Note: Yes, there is also a Space Marine companion – or two, to be precise. But they are optional; the game can definitely do without them!
You can roughly imagine Rogue Trader like Baldur’s Gate 3, just that a different rule system is the basis, which is reflected in character creation, leveling, or combat. The control via an isometric camera and turn-based combat is, however, comparable. Rogue Trader even does some things even better than Baldur’s Gate 3. However, there is no full voiceover here.
