At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, Sony also talked about the PlayStation 5 and revealed a new detail. We summarize what the electronics giant disclosed about its next-gen console.
What is CES all about? Currently, CES is taking place in Las Vegas, where thousands of exhibitors present all sorts of news and trends from the technology world.
Sony is also there, and many fans had hoped that new details or even an official presentation of the PS5 console could be revealed. And indeed, Sony talked about its PlayStation 5. However, there was really only one new thing.
Sony presents the official logo of the PlayStation 5 (PS5)
The appearance regarding the PS5 was not very extensive. They spoke for just over 2 minutes about the upcoming next-gen PlayStation. During this, they unveiled the official logo of the PS5.
The new PlayStation 5 logo will likely seem familiar to many: There were no real surprises – just like with the name.
The logo of the new gaming console is basically identical to the logo of the PS4, except for the number 5.
Both the symbol and the lettering remain unchanged.
This is what Sony said about the PS5
Many fans were disappointed: Those who hoped for an official reveal of the PS5 design as recently seen with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X or new concrete details about the price or exact release date of the PS5 were let down.
Although many had eagerly anticipated Sony’s appearance, the information provided was limited. Sony essentially recapped the most important known features of the PlayStation 5 through a graphic – such as
- 3D Audio Sound
- improved controller with adaptive triggers
- a fast SSD
- hardware-based ray tracing
- and an Ultra-HD Blu-Ray drive
