The comment from BarryMcKockinner summarizes the opinion of many gamers: “While it’s fun to compare the raw data of these consoles [PS5 and Xbox Series X], ultimately it’s the price and game development that will make the difference for the players.”.
csmith81981 is even more direct. He states: “None of this is really significant to me. I know it will be faster and quieter than the PS4 Pro. All that matters to me are the games. That’s what I am waiting for.”.
Why is there so little enthusiasm? The presentation yesterday was very technical and particularly exciting for game developers. For them, it is crucial whether their game ultimately runs well and smoothly on the PS5.
For the average gamer, many technical details may be of little significance. Whether the PS5 is slightly faster than assumed or has a somewhat better graphics than previously thought is nice, but not alone decisive for the purchase. At least, this is often read in the comments on the presentation.
What do fans expect regarding the price? Some gamers have looked at the technical specifications and believe that the PS5 is likely trying to be slightly cheaper than the new Xbox.
To me, it looks like Sony has tried to reach a specific price point.
I think the PS5 will cost $399 and the Series X will be $499. Or Sony will announce the price first, and then Microsoft will decide to take a loss on their hardware, as I believe that a $100 difference is too much for the majority.
