The final design of the upcoming PlayStation 5 is still pending. However, that doesn’t stop artists from designing their own concepts. And some of them are really, really good.
What do we know about the PS5? So far, there isn’t much confirmed information about Sony’s upcoming next-gen console. Especially the design of the PlayStation 5 remains a well-kept secret.
Only the appearance of the Dev Kit is already known. However, in the past, this has always differed greatly from the finished console, so it likely won’t be a reference for the final design.

Cool concepts from artists
What are these trailers? After an artist already gained much fame in early February with his design for the “DualShock 5” controller, more concept specialists have now attempted their vision for the console.
We came across two new videos showcasing high-quality images of the ideas from two artists. There, you can see fictional versions of the PlayStation 5 that could easily stand in stores in such a professionally developed form and should, in the eyes of some fans.
Concept by Abdelrahman Shaapan
This is the concept: The artist Abdelrahman Shaapan presented his idea of the PlayStation 5 in a video on the YouTube channel ConceptsiPhone. It strongly resembles the PS4, but is smoother and has fewer levels.
As a special feature, he integrated a screen in the front of the console that displays the current game, player profiles, and the battery level of the controllers. A nice gimmick.
However, many users on YouTube apparently associate the design with a printer, which leads to mild mockery. One user even says: “Great, the PS5 looks like a printer and the Xbox Series X like a PC.” Nevertheless, the video has already received 462 upvotes.

Concept by Jermaine Smit
This is the concept: Jermaine Smit, also known on YouTube as “Concept Creator”, presented another variant and made it available through the Dutch tech site LetsGoDigital.
Smit opts for a slightly more elegant but also simpler design. His front has a slight curve to differentiate the disc drive from the USB ports. The drive is subtly illuminated, and there are stripes made of carbon fiber optic across the case.
The artist also presents a concept for a controller that appears to have a bit more grip and slip-resistant due to the carbon look. He received a bit of mockery because he credited the console with a Halo CD – the exact game that is considered Microsoft’s flagship franchise.
