Where can I find the crossbow? For the weapon, you need to have made some progress in the game. The cave with the crossbow can be accessed from the beginning, but you need the Maintenance Keycard to enter the right room.

You will find two maps here: one with the location of the crossbow cave and one with the keycard location. Here is the map for the crossbow:
Where can I find the maintenance keycard? The location is shown on your GPS device as a blinking green dot:
Examine the ground at this location. You will find spots to dig and discover a bunker. Explore the underground complex, and in a living area, you will find the keycard on the desk. Keep looking around; there is plenty to loot down here – including the fire axe.
Where can I find crossbow bolts? Currently, you can only acquire ammunition for the crossbow by looting; you cannot craft the bolts. So be conservative with the powerful weapon, even though it is difficult.
Sons of the Forest is in Early Access, and the developers state that more recipes and items will be added to the game over time. This may include bolts as well.
