Look forward to the next patch in Sons of the Forest if you enjoy working with logs. A tool for transporting wood is finally on the way! That’s what we know so far.
What kind of tool is it? The wood sled (also known as wood cart) is finally making its release in Sons of the Forest. Imagine a sled that can hold many logs and transport them along a path. No more dragging a maximum of 2 logs and all the trips associated with it.
The release was confirmed by the developers in the patch notes of the latest update.
When will the wood sled come?
What the developers say: On April 20, Update 4 for Sons of the Forest was released. In the blog post on Steam, the team explains what content the patch brings and how the game will change for you directly. But there is also a look ahead to the future of the game. The wood sled is set to finally be included in the next patch. The team says:
“Also, because we saw a lot of people asking about it – The wood sled is coming back! It is almost ready for its release and will be part of the next patch.”
How good is the sled? In the predecessor, The Forest, this sled was very popular. It offered space for
- 12 logs
- 58 sticks
- 26 stones
- or
- 3 corpses
However, you could only transport one resource at a time with it. In crafting, the sled only cost 21 sticks. It was therefore easy to farm and quickly became a useful means of transport in the early game.
How exactly the wood sled will be implemented in Sons of the Forest and whether it can transport a similar amount of resources is still unclear. However, the developers know how much players would like to use the device.
When will the sled come? Currently, fans expect a release on May 11 with Update 5. That would be three weeks after the last update. Until then, you can take advantage of the improved Kelvin, who can now carry two logs at the same time since Update 4.
